The first of Extra Life’s two annual events, the TableTop Appreciation Weekend, is coming up August 24th – 26th. We here at the Malted Meeple will once again be participating in our own unique way, with marathon gaming and amazing milkshakes!
Our 2018 TableTop Appreciation event features a Swords & Sorcery theme. We will be hosting a 12 hour Dungeons & Dragons marathon, and for the first time a 12 hour Pathfinder marathon as well. As an added bonus, participants in either marathon will receive an exclusive Red Cloak Society boon which grants a companion for use in other role playing sessions here at the Meeple!
The Dungeons & Dragons marathon will feature Sellswords, a mini campaign set in the Forgotten Realms.
With war gathering between Damara and Narfell, much of the north is without the protection of the King’s army. You are a group of sellswords seizing this opportunity. You have come to offer aid to the desperate and lawless villages, whether out of sympathy for their plight or a desire to squeeze what gold you can from the barren region…
For a special treat, the Pathfinder marathon will feature Doomsday Dawn, the official debut of the Pathfinder 2.0 rule set! Doomsday Dawn takes players on a decade-long journey throughout Golarion as they attempt to understand and defeat the otherworldy menace and avoid utter catastrophe!
Mysterious ancient artifacts from the early days of desert-choked Osirion count down the years until a rare planetary conjunction that will align Pathfinder’s world of Golarion with the hostile planet Aucturn, allowing the ravenous hordes of the Dominion of the Black to surge forth and harvest the brains of the Inner Sea, remaking the world in their terrible, alien image.
Entry into either role playing marathon requires a donation to Extra Life of $40 or more. Sign up at the Malted Meeple starting today, as seats for these marathon events are sure to fill up fast!
In another first for this year, we will be adding a new event, the Boardgame Breakdown! The Breakdown will be held on Saturday the 25th and will feature four two hour time slots during which we will be teaching and enjoying various fantasy themed board games, such as Crossing, Castle Panic, Raise Your Goblets and Sheriff of Nottingham. Entry into the Boardgame Breakdown requires a donation to Extra Life of $5 or more per slot. There’s no need to sign up in advance, just stop in on Saturday and jump into as many of the games as you’d like!
And of course, it wouldn’t be a Malted Meeple Extra Life event without the return of our exclusive #ForTheKidsShake! This rare shake only appears during Extra Life events, so be sure to stop in during the weekend to get it while it lasts! The Malted Meeple will donate 50% of the proceeds from each shake sold to Extra Life and the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals!
