It is our mission here at the Malted Meeple to provide a great place – and a great way – to spend quality time with friends and family.
Join us and enjoy the finest board games, craft beers and hand crafted milk shakes.
The Malted Meeple traces its origins to the Raven’s Roost Pub at Ravenwood Castle, a country inn in Ohio’s Hocking Hills region.
Owned and operated by long time gamers, Ravenwood Castle boasts a unique setting, an ever growing library of games and two annual gaming conventions – making it the discriminating gamer’s destination of choice!
The Malted Meeple charges a $5.00 table fee per person. This allows us to provide you with a great selection of games, and keep a dedicated staff on hand to teach them. And don’t worry about those longer games. We don’t want you to feel rushed, so our simple five-dollar table fee lets you play all day!
Planning on visiting frequently? Ask about our new prepaid Game Passes, and receive a 20% discount on your table fee!
A Malted Meeple membership conveys several benefits for the most die hard of gamers. Chief amongst them, the table fee is waived for the member – and in the case of Family Memberships for their entire immediate family!
Members also receive: five free guest passes and the ability to preregister for certain special events with limited seating.
Individual Membership: $250.00 per year.
Family Membership: $500.00 per year.
The Malted Meeple does not currently accept reservations – seating is on a first come, first served basis.
We do however occasionally host ticketed events. Preregistering for an event will reserve your spot.
WHAT’S A MEEPLE?
The word “Meeple” was coined in 2000 during a game of Carcassonne, to describe the now iconic wooden game pieces.
Believed to be a combination of “my” and “people”, the term is now commonly used to refer to person-shaped tokens in many board games.
