We’ve been in our new location at 53 Milford Drive for a little over a month now, and things are going great!
But as anyone who knows us will tell you, we’re not big on being idle. So after we completed the renovation and relocation, we took a short break, and then immediately got back to work on some more changes, additions and upgrades to the new Meeple.
Here’s just a few of the great things we have in store for the near future:
The Patio – The weather appears to be finally warming up, and that means enjoying some time out on the patio! We have some work to do before we’re ready to open up our patio to guests, but we’re moving along and hope to be able to fire up the fire-pit tables in the next week or two! And that’s just the first phase. Over the next few months we have some major improvements and additions in store for our outdoor area, including some oversized outdoor games (giant Jenga anyone?)!
More Events – Now that we have more private rooms, the team is hard at work coming up with some great new events to host in those rooms. Things like our popular Minis & Malts and the new Meeple Mixer nights are just the start. Oh, and we’re always open to suggestions. Have an event you’d love to see us try? Stop in and let us know or send us an email at info@maltedmeeple.com!
Improved Inventory – We’ll never be a full service retail store with walls and walls of board games for sale, that’s just not what we’re about. But we do like being able to offer you books and accessories for use during your role playing games, or that easy to learn game that you just have to share with your friends at home. We now have significantly more retail space, and plan to fill it with some interesting tidbits over the next few weeks. Be sure to check it out on your next visit!
Improved Website – We’ve recently engaged local firm 427Design to assist us with some upgrades to our website. Although many of these upgrades will be behind the scenes, there will be plenty of goodies for our guests as well, including a better laid out (and more up to date!) board game library page as well as more frequently updated menu pages. Perhaps best of all, in the not too distant future Meeple Madness Challenge and Red Cloak Society members can expect to be able to sign onto the site and track their progress!
Expanded Team – If you’ve visited in the last few weeks you’ve likely already met some of our great new team members (hi Brie, Greg, Lindsay and Ellie!) We’re not done yet, and are in the process of interviewing several more servers, hosts, and event staff.
Escape Rooms – Perhaps the question we receive more than any other since the move is “When are you opening the escape rooms!?!” The answer is: we aren’t telling! In all seriousness, we are extremely excited for the escape rooms, and want to get them up and running as quickly as possible. We’re hard at work on them now, and will share more information as soon as we can!
As always, stay tuned here and on our Facebook page for further updates and announcements!
