We run quite a few different role playing systems at The Malted Meeple. Within those systems, we run a wide variety of story lines. Some of these are stand alone “one off” stories, while some form a part of a larger story arc. Some sessions utilize published scenarios, while others come straight from the twisted minds of our Game Masters.
Within all of this variety, many players and DMs hold a special place in their hearts for “Organized Play”, in which they participate in a larger story arc, typically one being experienced world wide by other fans of the particular system. The official Dungeons & Dragons Encounters storylines, and Pathfinder Society play fall into this category. They are soon to be joined by a brand new Call of Cthulhu organized play campaign. Here is guest blogger and our very own Call of Cthulhu Keeper and Dungeon Meeple, Tyler Hudak, to share the news.
Chaosium, publishers of the Call of Cthulhu role playing system, have announced the first Call of Cthulhu organized play campaign, titled A Time to Harvest. The campaign kicks off in mid April, and will unfold over the course of six months.
Starting on April 14 and continuing forward, the monthly Call of Cthulhu game at the Malted Meeple will be participating in this organized play program. Over the course of the next six months, players will enjoy a six episode campaign which will take their characters from the famed Miskatonic University in the 1930s and draw them into a sanity shattering web of intrigue.
While the campaign will build to a horrifying climax that pits characters against the dark forces of the Cthulhu mythos, each episode will be self-sustained and will not require that players have participated in any previous session to enjoy the game.
As always with Malted Meeple role playing sessions, characters will be provided, but players are more than welcome to create their own character to game with.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to participate in the first organized campaign from the creators of Call of Cthulhu!
Sign up for the game on your next visit to The Malted Meeple, or RSVP on our Meetup.com.
