After School Hangouts

08/16/2016

This week we’re hearing a lot of those three words dreaded by all kids – “Back To School”.

In our household we have a brand new Middle Schooler, and another heading off to High School for the first time. You can imagine there are some nerves!

Whether it’s starting in a whole new school system, entering a new grade level, or just getting back into the swing of the routine, Back to School can be a stressful time.

We at the Malted Meeple are here to help! No, we can’t make school itself any easier, although we have long held the belief that playing board games and role playing games has educational benefits. What we can do is provide a great place – and a great way – to relieve some of that back to school stress.

Join us after school for a milkshake, some popcorn, and a great game or two!

And beginning next week we will be adding two new scheduled game sessions to our lineup of offerings.

Intro to Role Playing Games will be held every Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00. This session focuses on introducing new players to role playing games in general as well as introducing veteran players to new game systems. Whether you like swords and sorcery, science fiction or historical fiction, we’ll have something for you!

Intro to Board Gaming will be held every Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00. These game sessions will focus on introducing players new and veteran alike to some great new board games.

Join us in a safe and welcoming environment, for some good old fashioned – and possibly educational – fun!

Make the Malted Meeple your After School Hangout. Meet new friends. Play great games. Be who you are.

Jim Reed is a lifelong gamer who started with the original red box Dungeons & Dragons. After spending 20 years in the corporate world, he decided it was high time that work be fun and struck out on his own. Jim now owns and operates Ravenwood Castle and The Malted Meeple, and spends his days ensuring his guests have as much fun as he does.
