Join us Saturday April 30th, 2016 for the fourth annual International TableTop Day, with special guest Jon Gilmour!
International TableTop Day is produced by Geek & Sundry, creators of the popular YouTube series TableTop, which features actor Wil Wheaton and celebrity guests playing hobby board games. Each episode of TableTop focuses on a particular board game, and teaches the audience – and sometimes the players – how to play. Given how fond we are of teaching people hobby board games, we’re big fans of the show.
With International TableTop Day, Geek & Sundry takes TableTop on the road. More to the point, they invite their fans to take the show into their own hands and get out and spend the day playing board games. The stated mission is to remind us to spend more time with our friends and family by playing board games together. That sounds an awful lot like our mission here at The Malted Meeple and Ravenwood Castle!
Events are organized around the world, from groups of friends in the family room, to large groups at venues such as game stores, cafes and castles. Well, at least one castle that is. We are once again partaking in the fun this year with our own events.
Join us here at The Malted Meeple for a day of great games, great milkshakes and great people! We will be joined by Jon Gilmour, designer of great games such as Dead of Winter! Jon will be sharing some of his newest creations with us, including Heroes & Tricks, Wasteland Express Delivery Service and Vault Wars!
Ravenwood Castle will also be participating in the festivities, with their annual Knights of the Round TableTop Day. On Saturday April 30th, head on out to Ravenwood Castle, take along some friends, and celebrate International TableTop Day. This is a free, non-ticketed event, and doors will be open to the public from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday. Enjoy a day of board games with old friends and new.
So whether here at The Malted Meeple, at Ravenwood Castle or in your own family room, be sure to celebrate International TableTop Day!
In the meantime, be sure to check out a few episodes of TableTop. You’ll be glad you did.
