Hoop & Stick Con 2016!

08/18/2015

In the last few weeks the Malted Meeple team has been involved with Con in the Castle 2015 and the ultimate gaming convention, GenCon. Needless to say, we’re in a bit of a convention spirit. So we’re thrilled that our partners over at Ravenwood Castle have announced our favorite convention of the year Hoop & Stick Convention!

Hoop & Stick Con 2016 will be held Thursday February 25th through Sunday February 28th. Four days and three nights of gaming goodness, in a castle, for charity. It really doesn’t get better than that!

The convention will feature the return of Colby Dauch and Isaac Vega from Plaid Hat Games as Guests of Honor. Although they’ve recently moved their headquarters to Texas, they will be flying back in for Hoop & Stick. They apparently can’t get enough of our Ohio winters!

Plaid Hat will be demoing some of their many hit games and will be sharing their most recent prototypes with guests. And if we know them, they will likely be getting into a rousing game of Fiasco! or two as well.

The schedule will feature many role playing sessions, including Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and Star Wars Edge of the Empire or Force and Destiny.  Many of these sessions will be run by our own Head Game Master, Karington Hess.

Last year’s convention raised $7,715 for Child’s Play. The Ravenwood Castle team is setting another aggressive goal this year, and are aiming to hit $10,000! Will they make it? With a little help, I bet they can!

The Malted Meeple will be participating in the Hoop & Stick fundraising this year as well. Stay tuned as the event approaches for details of how you can help right here at The Meeple. In the meantime, clear your calendars and join us February 25th through February 28th for four days of great gaming for a great cause! Head on over to Ravenwood Castle’s site to reserve your room for the event, but hurry, the rooms don’t last long!
