Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update #3

Jim Reed   |   11/18/2020

Dear Malted Meeple Guests,

Eight months ago today, I wrote an announcement letting you know that due to the coronavirus pandemic The Malted Meeple would temporarily cease all operations. I never expected then that exactly eight months later I would be writing an identical announcement, but here we are.

Over the last week, the State of Ohio has issued several new pandemic related orders which affect the operations of businesses such as the Malted Meeple. Among other things, these orders restrict the size of social gatherings in various businesses, as well as the allowable activities at those gatherings. The newest such order goes into effect tomorrow, and imposes a 10:00 PM curfew for at least the next three weeks.

It is our belief that these orders, taken in their totality, make the ongoing operations of the Malted Meeple impractical. Given the worsening pandemic, we also believe the continued operations of the Meeple at this time would be inadvisable.

As of tomorrow morning, the Malted Meeple will be ceasing operations for the immediate future. At this point we do not know how long we will be out of operation, though at a minimum it will be for the duration of the three week curfew.

We will continue to monitor the developing situation, and will provide additional details as we have them. In the meantime, please exercise good common sense, keep yourselves and your loved ones safe, and we will see you all on the other side.
