Halloween Around Northeast Ohio

Molly Smith   |   10/22/2019

Halloween is right around the corner. As we approach mid-October, we remember why we love this time of year – we get to spotlight our spooky Milkshake Madness (this month’s shakes are Cereal Killers, and trust us when we say you’ll be DYING to get your hands on them before they’re gone!) and play games that really get us into the spirit like Betrayal at House on the Hill or Mysterium. We are lucky that we are located in the hub of downtown Hudson and close to all the seasonal fun in the surrounding areas. Check out the list of spooky activities below that are sure to make for a frightfully good time!

Hudson Haunted House (located in Oak Grove Park) this local non-profit haunted house is one of the best Haunted Houses in the area, and is a Hudson tradition, run by the Hudson Jaycees since 1972. The money they raise during the haunting season is for local and national charities! You can purchase tickets onsite with cash or credit card. They offer group pricing, have a food vendor onsite, and free parking.

Ales on Rails: Spooky Brews in Peninsula on October 26th. About thirty minutes from downtown Hudson you have a chance to celebrate the spooky season on board a train with five beer selections and light appetizers. This is a two-hour round trip. The train is departing Rockside Station at 5:30 PM and located at 7900 Old Rockside Road, Independence, OH 44131. MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE TO RIDE. Tickets range from $60-$95 per person, depending on seating.

Community Trunk-or-Treat in Ravenna on October 25th. Join the Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities for a community Trunk-or-Treat benefiting Family & Community Services! Parents and kids can come to Happy Day School between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM to collect candy from local businesses and community organizations around Portage County. Participants are encouraged to donate hygiene products for community members in need.

Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Haunted Historical Walking Tour has multiple dates to choose from in late October if you’re in the mood for a scare or two! Learn about the history and ghosts haunting some of Front Street’s oldest buildings and sites during this one hour, one-mile walking tour! This is a family-friendly event, but not recommended for young children who do not like to be frightened. Tickets may be available but are not guaranteed at the door.

Trick-or-Treating in Hudson will be on October 31st from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

The Malted Meeple will be giving you, our guests, a treat this year by offering FREE table fees on Halloween, Thursday, October 31st, for anyone who comes in costume. We look forward to all your creative, spooky, and downright genius costumes! See you then!
