June Brewery Spotlight – Heavy Seas

Heavy Seas Logo

One of the things we are passionate about here at Ravenwood Castle and the Malted Meeple is craft beer. We pride ourselves on having an excellent assortment of craft beers for the enjoyment of our guests. We’re thrilled to launch a new monthly blog feature, the Brewer’s Spotlight, in which we raise our pints to the men and women who dedicate themselves to the brewing craft. In our inaugural Brewer’s Spotlight we raise our pints to the folks from Heavy Seas, creator of some of our favorite brews! Founded in Maryland in 1995, Heavy Seas sports a pirate logo, which to the folks of the brewery represents a certain swagger, a lifestyle, an attitude. June Game of the Month – Spoils of War

Spoils of War

The Game of the Month series highlights one of the many games in our libraries at Ravenwood Castle and The Malted Meeple. We will briefly describe the game, how to play it, and why we like it. The raid is over, but the game has just begun! We are proud to announce our June game of the month: Spoils…

As another school year draws to a close, our thoughts turn towards carefree summer days and that quintessential childhood pastime – Saturday morning cartoons! Our June Milkshake Madness competition celebrates some of our favorite classic Looney Tunes characters, featuring the Razzmanian Devil (Blue Raspberry and Strawberry), Elmer…

Gaming Away vs A Gaming Stay

Gaming Away v Gaming Stay

Game Night. To each and every gaming circle this means something different. Be it a marathon of board and card games, late night delving into dangerous dungeons, or armies of miniatures clashing into each other on the fields of glory. Game night is a ritual, a meeting of friends, the sharing of the experience, and the retelling of adventures past. And it is typically a ritual that continues week-after-week without interruption; however, this is not always the case. Conflicts arise, work schedules change, and life gets in the way. Sometimes gaming circles just grow restless looking at the same four walls week in and week out. Everyone needs a change of scenery sometimes.
